Tracy Reese - Mrs. Obama's Favourite Fashion Designer

Ms Reese, an Africa-American designer who was born in Detroit and lounched her collection in New York more than a decade ago, sits with the more affordable designers selling in luxury department stores.

Known for her use of bright colours, electic prints and feminine silhouettes, she is a favourite of Mrs Obama.

Tracy Reese attracted a full turnout today as she unveiled her ethnic-inspired collection at New York Fashion Week. The New York based designer, who has received much attention since dressing America's First Lady at the DNC last week, couldn't stop smiling as she witnessed crowds pack into the Lincoln Center's studio space.

While Mrs Obama's dusty pink dress had a classic feel, Reese's Spring/Summer line took a moore modern approach, with geometric prints, bold colors and daring cuts.

Ms Reese says - as quoted in dailymail.co.uk - that her inspiration from this season came from the fabrics offered at the Paris fabric collection.

For the daytime there were roomy floral-print coats, sandy coloured linens and losoe-fitting pants, accessoried with thick-framed spectacles and heeled sandals.

While touches of metalic and smattering of sequis injected a touch of glamour.
