La Perla is an Italian clothing company specializing in lingerie.
La Perla was founded in 1954 by corset-maker Ada Masotti, in Bologna, Italy.
The company began manufacturing swimwear in 1971. In 1993, La Perla expanded into perfume, with a perfume bottle designed by Pierre Dinand.
In June 2013, La Perla became part of Pacific Global Management, the
holding company which is headquartered in London and includes in its
portfolio two global networks of the fashion and music worlds, Elite
World and Gold Typhoon.
As well as being stocked in department stores internationally, La
Perla has over 100 boutiques globally including London Sloane Street,
New York Madison and Milan Via Montenapoleone. La Perla launched their
new store concept in London and Milan in February 2014 and will follow
in the reopening of their Milan, Macau, Hong Kong, New York and Paris
stores in Spring 2014.
